Intermediate Yoga DVDs

Intermediate Yoga is a little tough to describe. Where does intermediate end and advanced begin? It can be a fine line depending on your strengths and weaknesses.

I’d say most people who have been practicing for a while are intermediate level. Perfecting your practice can take years; breathing, alignment and the spiritual meaning of yoga are incredibly broad and deep subjects that can be endlessly improved upon.

I don’t pretend to have all of this figured out, but the DVDs I list here would all be a little too confusing for total beginners.

However, even if you’ve been practicing for years and are very strong in your practice, you can still pick up plenty from the DVDs I list here. There are some fantastic classes available here.

    Rodney Yee has some fantastic yoga DVDs. In this one, he presents his particular version of Power Yoga. This workout spans 30 minutes, and it keeps you moving from one pose to another. It’s just a great intermediate Power Yoga workout if you’re looking for something that can help you improve your flexibility and strength in a quick 30-minute burst.

 

 

  • Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown DVDJillian Michaels’ Yoga Meltdown
    Jillian Michaels is famous–and notorious–for her in-your-face no-nonsense workout style. This Yoga DVD might come as a surprise–her intensity is toned down a bit and her yogic soft side shines through. 

    The fast-paced nature of this class means beginners will have a hard time keeping up. If you’re familiar with most foundational yoga poses, you’ll be right at home here. This DVD is a must for Jillian Michaels fans. And if you’re just looking for a modern yoga workout, then Jillian Michaels’ Yoga Meltdown is a nice one to consider.

  • Rodney Yee Yoga Burn DVDYoga Burn
    This is an excellent yoga DVD from Rodney Yee. In it, you’ll be invited to feel the burn as you lean into your postures and hold them for longer than you may be used to. This workout depends entirely on what you bring to it. While a beginner could jump right in and learn a bunch, intermediate practitioners will be in a much better position to really go for it and reap the great benefits of this solid yoga workout on DVD.

 

  • Rodney Yee Intermediate Yoga DVDRodney Yee: Intermediate Yoga
    Here’s another yoga DVD by Rodney Yee. He’s prolific, and I wouldn’t say this is one of his best, but if you liked his beginner yoga DVD, then you’ll be right at home where this one picks up.
