Yoga Beginner DVD
Congratulations for beginning your Yoga practice! This is a road you will not regret, I promise. Yoga is the oldest physical discipline in existence, and although the exact origins of yoga are unknown, the earliest evidence of yoga practice can be traced back to about 3000 B.C.
You are entering a practice that is extremely old and extremely powerful. Whether you are learning yoga singly or in a group, it is always a good idea to begin by taking a few guided classes with a qualified teacher.
It is invaluable to begin in the right way, and a teacher will demonstrate how to ease your body gently into and out of the postures. They will guide you on how to breathe properly, which is an essential and central aspect of the practice, and which can be surprisingly difficult at the beginning!
Once you have a good idea of how to get into the asanas then you can begin your home practice. These DVDs are a great collection of different styles and any one of them will be a good first step.

This DVD has eight routines which focus on increasing your flexibility and gaining core strength. The backdrop for the routines is a gorgeous beach and very soothing music, which really helps to relax you and ease into this new yoga adventure you’ve embarked on. The bonus here is that it’s a great teacher. Barbara Benagh has been teaching yoga for 35 years, which makes her a bonified yogi in my books!

The Power of Hatha Yoga – Beginner Series
Anyone new to Yoga practice will benefit from this Hatha series. Creating harmony, balance while building your strength and flexibility is the way to begin your adventure into yoga, and this is a perfect first step. I began my practice with Hatha and would recommend the same to anyone who asks. It is simple and relaxing while producing all the beneficial results in body and mind that yoga is known for. This is a simple DVD, without extensive production, call it “less glitz and more content!”
